Itacaré Eco Resort

São José and Prainha are one of the location's best attractions. Since these edenic beaches are situated within the resort, they can be considered almost private. You will also enjoy the natural rock pool filled with sea water, where you will experience a feeling of total well-being as you listen to the relaxing sound of the ocean.

Protected by APA - Itacaré Serra Grande Protected Area, and created by the State of Bahia government, the region is considered to be a World Heritage Site, fitting into the ecotourism category. Environment and resource management projects, as well as environmental education programs designed to preserve the natural ecosystems, are developed in the area.

The Itacaré Eco Resort is located 65 kilometers north of Ilhéus and 210 kilometers south of Salvador, on highway BA001, kilometer 64, in Itacaré county.

Getting there:

- By plane: There are daily flights from Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and São Paulo to Ilhéus airport. Air taxis from Salvador are also available, landing at the airstrip located 2 kilometers from the entrance to the Villas de São José Condominium.

- By road from Salvador: From Luis Eduardo Magalhães International Airport, in Salvador, head south to the low side of town (Cidade Baixa). Take the ferryboat to Bom Despacho/Ilha de Itaparica. Take the road to Nazaré town and after passing the highway police station, continue by the bridge to Valença town and then to Camamu town, where you will be able to access Hwy BA 001 that leads to Itacaré.

- By road: BA001 is the only access road from Ilhéus to Itacaré and to Bom Despacho (where the ferryboat to Salvador docks). It is a park road and was the first to be planned in Brazil, respecting the environment.
